Pequod's Pizza was founded in 1979 in Morton Grove, Illinois, by a group of pizza lovers who believed Chicago deserved something truly extraordinary. Inspired by the city's deep dish tradition, they set out to create a pie unlike any other — with a thick, buttery crust that caramelizes along the edges into a signature golden-brown ring.

That iconic caramelized crust, layered with chunky tomato sauce, premium mozzarella, and hand-selected toppings, quickly became the talk of the North Shore. Word spread fast. Lines formed. Loyalties were forged over shared slices at the big wooden booths that still define our dining room today.

Today, Pequod's serves thousands of deep dish lovers every week. But our recipe, our values, and our commitment to quality have never changed. Every pizza is still made by hand, baked in the same cast iron pans, and served with the same pride as the very first pie we ever pulled from the oven.

1985

North Shore Fame

Chicago Tribune features Pequod's as one of the city's must-try deep dish spots. Lines stretch out the door on weekends. Waitlists become a rite of passage.

1993

Kitchen Expansion

Growing demand leads to a full kitchen renovation and expansion. New cast iron pans are commissioned. Our team grows to 30 dedicated staff members.

2002

Award-Winning Recognition

Nationwide Shipping Launches
